anton's chimney cleaning

We're up to the task.

Who We Are

Learn a bit more about us

Once the chimney / flue is cleaned, it is a lot easier to undertake and inspection and get an understanding of what further maintenance may be required. At this point, there is no obligation to continue with any more of our services, however it is the best time whilst the chimney is at its cleanest. After repeated heating and cooling cycles, it is not uncommon to see small cracks and fissures within the surrounding bricks of a fireplace. This will all be explained to the Client following cleaning, so you will be able to inspect yourself. Ths cost of a thorough chimney clean and fireplace clean is well worth it for the host of benefits that you’ll enjoy – plus the piece of mind that you aren’t lounging in harmful gases while you are watching the television at night! Have you got other house maintenance jobs around the house that need doing? Our experienced handymen have seen a lot, and can likely help advise you on a whole range of things around the property. We have a direct association with Melbourne Fencing Pros, so for all your fencing needs, consider it done – and at a fair price.

As with anything, good quality products lead to good quality results, and the same certainly goes for wood. Dry, dense wood will burn hotter and longer than lightweight pine that is reasonably young. There is a lot of advice on which wood is ideal to burn, and we suggest doing your own research localised to your area – as there will be wood sourced locally that is perfect for you. Of course, this will mean that the wood costs a bit more outright. On average, and Australia house burns about 3 tonnes of wood per winter, which equates to about 2 and a half ‘cords’ (the measure of firewood). This is about 600 pieces of firewood per winter. A ute can fit approximately 80 pieces of firewood in the back, to give you an idea of the volume of this wood.
